Working with Karina and James from the outset was a joy, a very relaxed couple despite travelling miles for their wedding. James, who is English, and his Kiwi bride arrived a week before the big day from London with many family and friends in tow, to help celebrate their wedding and the beginning of the year 2010.

We had meet with them a year previously when we had shown them the venue and they had chosen the private home for their celebrations – and what a party it was, a fabulous place to accommodate up to 12 guests on site, fantastic weather to enjoy the holiday with pool facilities and plenty of room for those with children.

The wedding went off without any hitches and as music was an important element as they both work in the industry the party, the sounds and the dancing was a huge success.

We got to know the families well and worked closely alongside ‘Mum’ in order to have the marquee beautifully decorated with hanging lanterns and decorative tables right down to ‘jaffa’ sweets for favours – truly kiwi at heart. The following testimonials speak for themselves:

Being based in London with demanding jobs, having to organise a New Years Eve wedding on Waiheke Island for both local and overseas guests seemed a very daunting task. I’m sure without the help and guidance of Jan and Jenny from Waiheke Island Weddings, it would never have been such the wonderful and memorable experience that it was for ourselves, our families and friends.

From our first conversation to the follow up after our ceremony, we found Jan and Jenny to be patient (a must when dealing with a 12 hour time difference!), professional, very organized and incredibly informative about the Island, the range of locations and suppliers available.

Having heard horror stories of the stress and worry involved with planning a wedding, we never experienced any of this and one of the best decisions we made early on in our preparations was to use Waiheke Island Weddings to help organize and plan the event. Our main aim was not only to provide a relaxed and fun filled celebration for our guests, but for us to savor it without having to worry about the details on the day.

Thanks to Jan and Jenny’s meticulous planning, experience and recommendations, everything went perfectly and turned out exactly how we wanted it – the equipment suppliers, entertainment, transport, guest accommodation, catering and venue exceeded all our expectations. All we had to do was turn up and enjoy the proceedings!

It truly was one of the best days of our lives and one we’ll never forget. We can’t thank Jan and Jenny enough for helping us achieve our dream day.

All the best Karina & James

Dear Jan & Jenny,

Sorry I have not been in touch before now, still coming back to earth and the last of the UK visitors have just left the country however I would like to thank you both for your help and efforts before the big day and for organising everything so well on the day. As mother of the bride, it made my day more enjoyable knowing you would be there to deal with each and every aspect. It was such a memorable day and everything Karina and James had hoped and wished for. Several remarked that they had never seen such a more stress-free bride and groom and I am sure it was your efforts that gave them the confidence to relax and to enjoy their happy day so much.

Thank you once again for fulfilling their dream day; it was amazing for us all! Trish Masters
